Hi, I'm Liam
I am a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in London, United Kingdom.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually evolved into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United Kingdom wasn’t in the master plan. As with many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — fresh processes, new routines, unfamiliar expectations. Daily chores seemed more tangled than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt steady.
Why I Built SoftMeadowStudio
Much of online guidance was either corporate relocation tips or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice grounded in real-life experience in United Kingdom.
What This Site Covers (And Does Not)
This site is:
- Gained practical experience from living in United Kingdom
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when a real change occurs
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in United Kingdom continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in London or anywhere in United Kingdom, feel free to get in touch.
Best regards,
Liam
